and plants are as living as animals

just saying yo dont go hatin

No, not really.

Plants are living, but there's not a whole lot else that we've found that's really meant to be taken seriously.

Re: The Vegetarian/Vegan FAQ (For Those Curious Or Critical Of The Diet)

Let me try to explain this to you.

Meat tastes good, so I eat it.

Your argument is that we don't eat humans, or pets, so why should other animals be any different?

Simple. Let's take in 3 meat producers.

My best friend, my pet dog Rufus, and a cow.

I don't eat my best friend because I like him and because he tastes bad.
I don't eat my pet dog Rufus because I like him and because he tastes fairly bad.
I eat a cow because I don't like it and because he tastes good.

And, to the people who say that cows should be given equal rights as, say, Rufus, I tell them-cows are going to get slaughtered anyway, no one except hippies care, so let the cows deal with it.

its not really hypocritical when i accept that i eat animals
when the idea of vegan or whatever is to not eat anything living youre sorta limiting "living things" to the animal kingdom

true vegans subsist on bedrock

and id just like to not that pretty much has been either a valid point or a continuation of someone else's

Re: The Vegetarian/Vegan FAQ (For Those Curious Or Critical Of The Diet)

I agree with Sanddude!

If someone decides to be Vegetarian, who are you to stop them? Its a choice in life that they have the right to make! What if vegetarians starting telling you to stop being a meat-eater? That would make you mad! But that is what you are doing to them, in reverse!

Stop trolling and spamming pics of meat on Vegetarian discussion topics. That is downright rude, and could really offend some hardcore Vegetarians.

Just because you wouldn't personally make that decision, doesn't mean other people can't.

There are Vegans and Vegitarians in this world, so deal with it. What does it matter to you anyways? They aren't forcing you to stop eating meat, so quit bugging them.

Some people, believe it or not, have rights! OMG! Who would have guessed? I thought we were allowed to rant about people's life decisions being stupid![/sarcasm]

I 100% support this. Even though I wouldn't make the choice of becoming a Vegan or a Vegitarian, a pet peeve of mine has always been people offending, stereotyping, poking fun at, or insulting veggie-only eaters.

I think the point of the comic is that people who eat animals don't care if they eat living things, so that's okay.

While vegans DO care if they eat living things, so its hypocritical when they eat lettuce.

And don't forget that plants have lives[/4thelulz]

But sanddude is telling us to stop being meat eaters by listing down the so called "bad" things about being an omnivore.

Tic 4 tac.

He is just putting out a point that being a Vegetarian is too bad. Not trying to force anyone to stop being a meat-eater. And why do you say 'us': Do you speak for all the meat eaters? No. Some meat eaters actually co-exist and accept Vegans/Vegetarians.

This is kind of aimed at people who think a vegan diet is dumb, when it really isn't.

I don't what to force people to not have a cow, but I want them to stop from criticizing of a vegan diet.

But since you yourself aren't vegan, you should probably change it to "stop criticizing vegetarians and vegans" so people don't get the wrong idea,  wink

Okay. I don't really have anything against a vegan/vegetarian diet. I used to support it(but I wasn't one) since medical research has proven it was healthy. But then some vegans came and tried to pressure me into giving up meat, and from then on my philosophy is-Haters gotta hate vegans who try to make you give up meat.

Well, for him, I don't blame him.... if almost all the Vegans he knew we're pressuring him, why should he support them? From what he saw, Vegans we're a 'clan' of people trying to stop the world from eating meat. It was either just a bad experience for him or he just didn't want to support them if they will do that to him.

And I do agree with his philosophy.... nobody should be forcing anybody into changing between Meat-Eater/Vegetarian/Vegan/Peskitarian

Not all vegans are like that.

Why are we argueing about food?
We could be talking about politics.
Food isn't something to argue about.
It's something to EAT.

This is exactly my point. Sanddude has been one siding this conversation to an extreme.

From what I've heard, Vegans do not eat vegetables, or anything that was living.

SOY!

IT TASTES SO REAL IT STINKS!

It obviously takes the flavor of the shape it's in. I mean, it's been fooling people for centuries.
