Re: Archmage's really neato collab

V40 is uploading right now.
-Fixed some bugs with the shop.
-Renamed Heal Balls to Heal Gems, (which was the name used for the broadcast, I meant to name it Heal Gem, I have no idea where heal ball came from)
-Renamed Miffen to Miffin.
-Added two new moves.
-Added monster ball sprite

No, animagus already took care of that.

Also V41 is being uploaded right now. It only contains a bug fix, because I somehow messed up a bunch of battle stuff when changing speed.

We should have music for the non-battle parts

V43
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/mkolpnji_test/1635656

-Added a new status effect, curse.
If the enemy uses a damaging attack, then the enemy will take 1/2 of the damage given to the player as recoil damage. I think that's all the status effects this game needs.
-Made heartless angel non-effective against bosses. Say goodbye to cheap winning.

Yeah, I think we should probably find some music for the non-battle parts.

It's not that cheap actually.
For one thing, the enemy will only take damage if it's an attacking move.
But, now that I think about it, I should probably subtract the damage a little.

EDIT: Okay, changed it to 1/3.

Re: Archmage's really neato collab

Added mkolpnji's new version + some changes

-The win screen is a sprite that shows for 10 seconds.
-If the player goes to the castle when they have killed all the lords they fight a level 146 MissingNo (same lv as pokemon).

Re: Archmage's really neato collab

After our victory is announced does any one want to make a pokemon style sequel to this? It would be so easy to modify at this point and so many people are craving a pokemon game. This could be modded to make a very realistic (in both gameplay and looks) pokemon game.

Dude, with the unfairness of the Scratch Team, they will just pick ones by unpopular people, and seeing as yours is already curated.

And it will be multiple winners.

I am thinking they will at least announce the ones they thought were good in a forum post or something which is good enough.

I think that would be pretty epic.

If this does happen, count me in.

Also, I posted a version of Collab Monsters with somewhat advanced AI on my test account. Basically, once an enemy monster has less than 50% of their HP left, than they are more likely to use an attacking move than a stat mod or status move.

I guess I'll help too, this time I might be more involved if it's over summer break.

It seems a lot of Collab Challenge groups are becoming regular collab groups.

By pokemon, do you mean we get to make our own pokemon? I'd be good at sprites then. Well, at least better than the average person. Maybe you can invite wiimaster to help.

I think archmage will probably just use the normal pokemon.
It's easier that way, as they already have their set stats and everything.

Soup, ours is curated too...

Also, good luck guys with the Pokemon game. I feel like if you pull that off (Of which I have no doubt that you will), it would become one of the Top Loved of all time...

I can update the main project with your version if you included my changes with the missingno boss.

Also its cool that you want to help with the potential pokemon game. I think you are one of the very few people on this site who can contribute to scripting this. I also think you got better at coding during this process, for example you couldn't make the HQ but you were able to modify if after I made it and understand how it worked.

Because of the really large scale of such a project we would have to use existing sprites. We could make custom ones but I am not sure if that is needed.

I think it is fully possible to make an exact clone of pokemon without scrolling tilemaps or saving or other obviously impossible stuff. If you have ever played the flash game epic battle fantasy 3 that game is a good example of what is possible with scratch more or less. Most time spent developing such a project would be just programming the different areas and if you want to throw in original sprites you need a team of skilled sprite artists and I think it would be better to reuse old sprite art.
