PlugIns/Modules

Is it possible to "extend" Scratch, with Plugins, such as Networking or Files or something?

Is there an SDK that could be used to do this? It would have to have a graphical part to it for the puzzle pieces.

Yes: You can extent Scratch using the Scratch Source Code from http://scratch.mit.edu/pages/source.

If you're looking for lists and files you might want to have a look at my prototype:
