Scratch

Chapter 1
The Reindeer

     "A reindeer, a reindeer, come look, come look!"
I sighed. She's like this every Christmas. I set my hot apple cider down to get her some eggnog. "We've talked about this before. Reindeer don't fly."
     "But this one doesn't! It's just a baby!"
I would've chuckled if I hadn't seen the reindeer calf outside in the blizzard.
     I dashed into the blizzard.
As I picked up the reindeer and turned to the barn, I thought, "Where's my common sense?" and took it to the house.
     "What's it's name?"
She looked around the room, and stopped on it's fluffy cotton tail.
"Cotton. Let's name it Cotton."
It smiled. Cotton jumped on me.
"Come on, Cotton! Let's go!"
It took a bounding leap out the door.
It suddenly stopped.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't know."
It echoed in my head once.
"Was that you?"
Cotton grinned.
"Yeah. It's me."
