Scratch isn't about getting popular. Sure, being on the frontpage is nice, but forcing your way to the top isn't a good idea.

That said, wanting to be noticed is fine! Here's some ideas:
• Put links to your projects in your signature - your signature is attached to every post you make, so it's free advertising! Using the Show and Tell forum is a good way, too.

• Put quality over quantity. Trust me - putting out a bunch of little projects every day doesn't get you noticed, but spending time on good-quality projects does.

• Leave constructive and helpful comments. For example, instead of saying "THIS IS TERRIBLE IT'S SO GLITCHY AND BORING", say "This isn't bad, but you could improve it by doing this:" It makes people think you're an expert 

What not to do:
• Spam links to your projects in your comments. People really hate getting those comments, and it usually doesn't work.

• Perform publicity stunts, i.e. quitting, coming back, quitting, coming back, etc.

just follow these steps, and you'll find yourself getting a lot more views!
