<!--
<div id="NewestMembers" class="sidecontainer">
<h4>Newest Members </h4>
<ul class="sidelist">
<li><img src="/static/icons/buddy/701851_sm.png?t=2011-01-17+01%3A56%3A42" title="thenewlow" alt="thenewlow" width="28" height="28"><a href="/users/thenewlow">thenewlow</a> </li>
<li><img src="/static/icons/buddy/701850_sm.png?t=2011-01-17+01%3A40%3A47" title="HelloAvis" alt="HelloAvis" width="28" height="28"><a href="/users/HelloAvis">HelloAvis</a> </li>
<li><img src="/static/icons/buddy/701849_sm.png?t=2011-01-17+01%3A38%3A56" title="srinidhi" alt="srinidhi" width="28" height="28"><a href="/users/srinidhi">srinidhi</a> </li>
<li><img src="/static/icons/buddy/701848_sm.png?t=2011-01-17+01%3A36%3A07" title="akshaya" alt="akshaya" width="28" height="28"><a href="/users/akshaya">akshaya</a> </li>
</ul>
</div>
//-->So that is a comment. Comments shouldn't be displayed in the browser.

Well, Internet Explorer has no problems with showing that up.

But it shouldn't be a comment. It is supposed to be a sidebar or something like that.

It sounds like they just hid that part of the sidebar with an HTML comment, but your browser wasn't formatting it correctly for some reason. I don't have the problem on Firefox, and it's still there on lines 419-429 if you check the source.

The reason it is not showing is because <!-- and --> are pieces of EPIC PAGE SABOTAGE CODE!
Actually, they're HTML comment tags. Anything between them is not meant to be displayed, only left as a comment on what the HTML does. The Scratch Team were trying to hide the newest members section, but they didn't do their comments properly.
Anyway, they've fixed it now.
