It DEFINITELY isn't compatible with 1.2.5.
No mods are compatible with any version of minecraft that they don't explicitly state they're compatible with.

A .exe is used to launch Minecraft.jar on windows though so I assume that's what he's talking about.

Unless he is trying to make a snapshot server there should be a .exe server program that mojang releases. http://www.minecraft.net/download

  I downloaded ModLoader yesterday, and made sure to install it correctly with winRAR and everything. I played on fullscreen mode and Minecraft was working fine. Today, I tried to play in my browser and after the green loading bar the Minecraft screen goes black. When I try to play by running Minecraft from my computer, it says "can't connect to minecraft.net" when I try to log in. Help?

Umm, I mean like what do i do? Like I want to make a survival map. How do i build a survival map, I'll need creative or something.

Single Player Commands or Too Many Items (I suggest both, they don't conflict and have a lot of different features to play with)

They allow you to switch between Creative and Survival. I also suggest WorldEdit (needs single player commands; comes with it, but installed seperate. doesn't work with portalgun or mine and blade) and OptiFine. They'll help a lot. Also, if you want, download Spawner GUI (Risugami's thread), which allows you to pick which mob spawns in mob spawners (from the TMI menu).

Also, I suggest superflat options. It allows you to make a custom flatland map as high as you want, with layers as whatever you want (don't pick cactus). You can have more than one layer or different things. My adventure map right now is just flat bedrock with two layers of cobble on top of it. And, so it doesn't rain, I replaced the very top layer with glass. Even in OptiFine's EXTREME fog, you can't see it.

I also suggest looking at WorldEdit tutorials, and make sure you have a good knowledge of redstone; custom maps are nothing without redstone.

Would you like a .jar with these mods installed?

Note that none of these mods are required to play the map, they just aid in making the map. They add no new blocks, mobs, or anything. Just tools, but not actual item tools.
