But I have a bit of a problem.
See, I downloaded Minecraft.exe, I got to log in and all, but I got this error:

You're gonna need to use a .BAT like this
java -Xmx800m -jar "Path to Minecraft launcher JAR"
Paste that into Notepad and save it as something like Minecraft.bat. Make sure it's not a .txt. Then just double-click.
