Both are about a new world, which is probably why. Most of which they were talking about was just part of any normal game, enemies (which sometimes come out at night), source of food, housing, etc, I wouldn't pin it down on Notch being religious.

I am Christian but their "Evangelistic Game" argument sounds like a joke.

They heard people saying Notch was atheist that heard on Twitter which they call "a secular version of Christianchirp" and only look at IMPOSTORS of him to check. *facepalm*

And they say he didn't call the nether "Hell" to not make his reasons too obvious. It was to prevent offense to religious.

But one reason would be that the stories and ideas Jesus taught often used common real life things turned into a symbol of faith so we could understand.

It would not be hard to accidentally mimic the common stuff he used for comparisons.

I used that walruswalruswalrus seed, just too be in a village. I spawned adjacent to the chest, and stepped outside. I wasn't aware the houses were IN the ravine. Twas crazy!

I decided to safen up parts. I added walkways and fenced them up.
I gave one guy an escape hatch.
I set up a ladder at the bottom of the ravine.

It's not like they're gonna purposely use ANY of this, but I was bored XD
