I don't think so... well, on the Minecraft site, anyways... I think to get full Beta with mobs and changing times of day you need to buy it... still, I'm not completely sure.

If you have a few gigabytes of RAM, try the LB Photo-Realism Texture Pack, It's epic (IF your computer can handle it)

Are you on a Mac?
Unfortunately, the Mac version of the Prerelease is very slow and buggy, almost unplayable.

Nope, I have windows. Its a 64bit computer. I can play a premade world for about 5 seconds then crash, and creating a world crashes immediatly.
