i use play music until done sound block quite often within a forever block ..
which perhaps is not very good programming ..but..
anyway recently an offline glitch has occurred with mp3 files i have imported..by drag and drop method..
they play but they are not repeat played.
drag and dropped pcm wave files are fine they are repeatedly played..

The problem i tried to describe is fairly straightforward ..not complicated to understand.
i use frequently the play sound..until done block...for music and background sounds.
These sounds are usually in mp3 format.. and are imported into the projects by drag and drop method rather than by menu.
The sound block has repeated a sound wave quite happily within a forever script block
in the past..but just recently i have noticed a problem which by isolation of facts..
tends to be a large mp3 file..
it is set to play repeatedly but only plays once.. when it should play repeatedly..
i thought i made my self fairly plainly understood on what the problem was.

The same mp3 files that have been a problem are loop played perfectly by other media players..such as winamp etc..
Also i have tried scripting the non repeating sounds by using a broadcast method..
when i recieve""""" then play sound """" until done.. then broadcast.. the same command
its set to recieve..to play..
this also failed with the same mp3 sound files the play sound until done.. that was not repeated within the forever blocks..
its as though something has not detected the end of the mp3 file.. either at the end of the mp3 file itself or within the scratch programming..etc..

I see, now. Thanks for explaining. Are you sure it's inside a loop? Is there no "empty" sound at the end of the file?

I AM ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THERE IS NO EMPTY SOUND AT THE END OF THE FILE.
I USE PROFFESSIONAL STANDARD SOFTWARE FOR SOUNDEDITING..
I CHECKED BY EXPORTING THE SOUND WAVE FROM PROJECT TO SEE IF SOMETHING HAD BEEN INSERTED..WITHIN CONVERTING PROCESS.. IT HAD NOT..

Whoa, calm down. coolstuff is just trying to help - the more details you tell, the more easier it is to pin the bug down, as well as come up with a solution to help you work around the problem.
mp3's have been known to be sometimes buggy with Scratch because of the way they're compressed. Have you tried converting the file into an uncompressed WAV file and then importing it into Scratch?
I''m also wondering if it is a file size issue, or if it is an issue with the individual file itself. Have you tried importing another mp3 files around the size of the file you want to import? Likewise, is it possible for you to provide the file that is causing the problem so it can be tested on other Scratch interfaces? The more we're able to duplicate the error, the more quickly the problem can be fixed.

That happened to me once, too...
Do you recall the file size of the mp3 you were trying to import? Let's see if the error can be duplicated.
