Star Rankings

There should be Star rankings instead of love-its, and there could also be a star ranking for user based the ranking status of their pprojects. Lightnin if you see this please post a message here on your opinion.

Re: Star Rankings

That would make new users feel bad and quit if someone rates their project 1 star...

Yeah, that's the reason this suggestion has been said no to in the past. In some ways it would work, but that issue is why this probably isn't going to be implemented.

Yes, this has been long resolved. The Love-it system is, in my opinion, quite sufficient.

Exactly. Someone sees a one-level game. They rate 1 star. Project maker gets sad and:
1-quits Scratch
or
2-hates the other person and rates all of the person's projects 1.

Re: Star Rankings

+1 to everything

And false rates could bring trouble (like rating a project down in the hope you will pass it)...

Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.

Won't a user get sad to not have any love-its?

They might, but that's better than getting a 1 star rating; the love-it feature doesn't show of someone thinks it bad, it only shows if someone loves the project.

Re: Star Rankings

Very controversing. Popular users would like the star ratings, while the new users, who hardly have so much experience, would feel discouraged in creating more projects because their projects are underrated. So, no.  hmm

Re: Star Rankings

People should be given the choice to enable or disable the star rating system. I think that's fair to people who want feedback.

Yeah, but 1 star is like an "un love-it."

would you rather have 10 unlove-its or 0 love its?

@30bla30-yeah, but new scratchers might make this simple project and think it's great (it happens to everyone that starts something new...) and enable star rating. 1 star. 1 star. 1 star. quit.
