What if someone shut down the entire internet?
All of this:
What would you do? How would you respond?
*Note*: THIS ISN'T A TBG! FOR THE SAKE OF SAUSAGE, I DON'T WANT THIS TO BE A REPEAT OF WACKYPEDIA! (For those who don't know, Wackypedia was a suggestion thread that cheedargirl said was "a TBG" and had to be closed, when it was a thread about helping me make some articles for it. >...<) I'm just asking for opinions.

While it doesn't seem possible, it is. You just have to attack every server in the world. And stop people from making new ones. But that would be a very large, heavy hitting scale attack. And very hard to pull off.
But it can be done. However, it's likely to come back up quick.

I would not be too happy. However, I have many things I can do without being online.

See blazerv82's comment.

I thought I heard Google has the entire Internet backed up, so Google would pretty much rule the world.

What about after you cheer? I'm pretty sure I couldn't last that long without the internet in the winter here. It rains too much to go outside.
Books, videogames, friends, phones, etc.
I mean it'd be hard to adapt at first since I spend so much time on it, but I'm sure I'd get used to it.

That's true. I mean, think about how many people download the Low-Orbit-Ion-Cannon (LOIC) tool every day.

Dude, even though they're close to doing so anyway, Google practically OWNS the internet in a sense.

On a side note, it wouldn't help if Google had the entire internet backed up, they're part of the internet in itself! >XD

We would still have the infrastructure so it wouldn't take long before a group of people are email each other again. Unless it was a solar flare.

But they'd probably have other servers in wherever their headquarters are that wouldn't be connected all the time other than when it's updating the backup, so it would probably be the best chance we'd have if the Internet shut down.

Actually, now that I think about it, if the entire internet was shut down, and Google had all of the internetz backed up, they could just relaunch the sites on their own. The only downside is that Google would then own the internet, thus making Google's dream come true.

I would be vaguely unsettled; after all, I went a long period of my life without it, and a short but memorable period of life with it.

Since everything on the internet is never erased unless every single working computer in the world is destroyed, I shan't worry that it will all be erased. However it could be prevented from access, which is pretty much the same thing.
Anyways I would probably read a book, write a book with a magic new thing called a pencil, and maybe go outside more.

Exactly. Google would pretty much be able to get almost whatever they want if they control a lot of the world's data, which is however much data is on the Internet.
