We're still able to edit the site11 one, yes, then I can move them to the block.scratchr host when a page is done until meowmeow55 gets that uploader working  smile

Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

Sorry LemonSqueezy, but on Scratch we like to keep posts relevant to the thread, so if you want to post your jokes, I'd try the Miscellaneous forum where you can create your own thread for it as threads talking about something else aren't the place for posts like this  smile

Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

Sorry for being guilty and not having thought about this until now, but...
Since you're back (sparks) and stuff, can I have a short summary of what you've all been doing and maybe start doing something myself? (hint hint, give me something).  wink

Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

Well Do you (PF and LS) have the login details for the site11 site? We're doing work there and then moving finished pages to the scratchr site to get around the login sharing problems.

I do have the old details... I can't remember what site that was. And more detail would be nice, you've been very vague considering you summed up 10 pages of posts  roll

Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

I've emailed LS97  smile

Are we having commenting on this site? I've got a pretty neat commenting system I'm working on at the moment which would be light work to inject into the block library site, say commenting on blocks  smile

Yeah, cause I think each block has a page with info on it. A commenting system would rock.  smile

Haha. Yeah, cause I'd guess you'd take the same job as you do here.  big_smile

Has anyone started on the approving block inbox thing?

Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

Right, I would suggest in terms of moderation that we set up a notification system. On my site all comments are emailed to me so I can browser through them in one place but for the block library site it might be a good idea if comments are listed on a page of the control panel. Then a librarian can go through them and delete comments from that list if they're okay, deal with or flag comments that aren't? I can also build a rude-word filter into the system that stops swear words and such being posted without us having to do anything?

You could use preg_replace for that.  smile  A messaging system could work like this I suppose:
Everytime a person comments, it adds data to a table called 'approve' (or whatever). ON the approve page, it would do a loop to show all the messages. And then of course, all the rest would be removing it from the database.

Right?

You mean make all the php open source? Possibly when it's done  smile

As for approving, we don't need a seperate table, all we really need is a column with an approval status. The approve page combs the table for all comments marked as "unseen" and displays those, changing the comment's value to approved if approved or deleting the comment from the table  smile
