Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

You should add a link on the Home Page of the website.  wink

Also, if we are using Scratch to authenticate, I can create a small script that keeps you logged in as well, so you only need to login in once ( until the session expires of course ).

Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

yes, you're right, sparkz is the email as purplesparks was taken...

Magine using $_SESSION variables to keep someone logged in to the voting page isn't too important, especially as most browsers allow you remember username and password  smile

Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

Just checked out your website.  Pretty cool  smile

Unfortunately I can't help because I don't know much code at all, except for making Scratch blocks.  So all I can do is keep making blocks.

However, I noticed three problems with the 'Share a Block':  (Sorry is these have been mentioned already, I didn't read most of the thread)

1:  There is no such thing as a color block in standard Scratch.  Can you make it so that block types only appear with the appropiate program?

2:  You're missing hat blocks and cap blocks.

3:  You have categories that don't exist in standard Scratch, but appear as an option for it.  Like Problem 1, can you make it so that only the appropiate categories appear for their respective programs?

I'm going on vacation soon, so if anyone responds, I probably won't see your response for two weeks.

Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

sparks: I was going to use $_COOKIE variables  tongue  and for future use for the website ( Modding, etc, and I could make another Mini-Panther Forum xD ).

Greenatic: We haven't finished the Sharing yet ( I don't think any block can be added yet, not sure though ).

Entry 4 has been removed. Please refrain from sharing anything other than competition entries, links within the image will not work and doing so could risk all your entries being removed  hmm

*logged in to competition.php*

I'm just working on the voting change system so that people can change which entry they have voted for.

Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

Well where my coding currently stands, I've managed to get voting changing to work, but it does not update the vote next to the voters name, meaning if you vote again, the thing you voted for first could end up with negative votes. Please, whatever you do don't try to change it till I say so!

:S sorry.

I think you should add a link to the competition page from the menu.
Also, my other one that was just text, was explaining what the one above should have, and I thought it was useful information.

Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

I'm currently looking some text editor that allows us to program in real time ( so we can code at the same time, an alternative to the *logged into such and such file* stuff ) so we can code at the same time.

Re: Welcome to your local block library! - Website development thread.

That would be handy! Google docs is an option but it does not allow HTML or PHP files, only doc files so we'd always have to convert before uploading...
