It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.
— Douglas Adams
That makes some sense. There are an infinite number of worlds, because space is endless. We'll call worlds X. But not all of them are inhabited, so there isn't an infinite amount, Y. We now have X, which is ∞, and Y, which is a large positive integer. X / Y is infinitely close to 0, because any positive integer divided by infinity is infinitely close to 0. Because that number, let's call it Z, is infinitely small, than the percent of life on a planets, Z x 100, which is also infinitely small, is .0... ...01%, which means there is no chance of life on a planet, which means we do not exist.

Isn't this a TBG?

I don't think so... if we rated them I guess it would.

I don't know who said that.

Septimus, he said the 'average' population is zero. It makes sense because we are some of the only things alive in the universe (that we know of). So saying we don't exist doesn't make sense.
Here's a good quote. "People are always trying to find a scapegoat to blame eating problems on. How long before they tell us the devil made us eat?" - I forget.

This one is long, but I like it.
"War is brutish, inglorious, and a terrible waste. Combat leaves an indelible mark on those who are forced to endure it. The only redeeming factors were my comrades' incredible bravery and devotion to each other. Marine Corps training taught us to kill efficiently and try to survive. But it also taught us loyalty to each other- and love. That esprit de corps sustained us.
Until the millennium arrives and countries cease trying to enslave others, it will be necessary to accept one's responsibilities and to be willing to make sacrifices for one's country-as my comrades did. As the troops used to say, "If the country is good enough to live in, it's good enough to fight for." With privilege goes responsibility." -From "With The Old Breed", by USMC Corporal Eugene B Sledge, WW2 veteran at Peleliu and Okinawa. Suffered from post traumatic stress.

BTW, I don't come up with all the quotes in my sig on my own. I found this site once when I Googled quotes, so if you want one for your sig, check there.

@werdna123: Because there is an infinite amount of space, there is logically an infinite amount of matter to fill it.
