miscellanous but you can't post there until your a scratcher.

Yeah misc. forum. But you could always post a project about it and then link to it in the show and tell forums.

I've been on every day since August 15th and I'm still a "new scratcher".  How long does it take?

There's no set time - it depends on how active you are. Even though you've been on since August, you've only made 10 posts, which isn't a lot.

It basically comes down to how often you're seen whether you're clear with the Terms of Use. If you post at least a few times a week and don't get banned, you should be promoted in a few weeks at the most. (Being active on the main site helps, too.)
