I'd like to connect seniors that are in nursing homes / assisted living with young people through Scratch programming (through project development). But the type size is too small to see and the blocks too small to easily manipulate. Can you add a magnification to the scripts tab to make the scripts easier to see and manipulate?

That would be a good idea! I want this implemented

This would be good. In the mean time you can always change the resolution to make the text bigger.

Resolution doesn't seem to effect font size with vista on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Windows environment allows larger type but this seems to be outside the scratch project windows: that is, the type within the scripts window of the scratch project window is unchanged by my change of the windows environment font size. You should now have guessed I am a senior citizen myself with reading glasses. (but at 2.75 feet - the distance to my screen - they don't help. Currently I am exploring rigging a document holder and an 8.5 by 11 in Fresnel lens.

I think there's a magnifier in the Accessibility programs folder that should serve your purpose quite nicely. Obviously there are some limitations, but I think it will work until this (I hope) gets implemented.

This is a great idea; if you proposed it on Scratch Suggestions I bet you'd get some positive feedback. This is the sort of feature that Scratch 2.0 needs to expand its audience, and besides helping out the hard of sight bigger blocks would really help on a tablet PC.
