I had an idea for something. How bout making a program that would work like operating system that is coded in Squeak! ? It would have the same GUI as scratch, but it would be a OS. I could help, but not as head programmer. i am not that good at Squeak! yet (although I think I just had a breakthrough).
What do you say?

Something tells me neither will want to. Also, have you started yet? If not I will. (and put it on mediafire please.)

PS I'll work on your .rb project if you want now

Okay, I'll start on it then.
PS Sure. By the way, the most recent upload is here: http://code.google.com/p/zork/downloads/list

OK.
Step 1. Download scratch source code.
EDIT: is the name "Squeak! OS"?

Great prediction!
It's not that I don't think it's a good idea, but you knowledge of OSes and Programs is probably not enough to undertake such a task. An operating system is a very long and complicated project, and needs millions of lines of low-level code (or, in simple terms, code written almost in machine code). Call it a assembly language if you prefer; C and asm are both good examples.
As for some kind of "cover" OS, a kind of shell system that overrides WIndows, I'm already working on one. And i decided to use VB for the task; Squeak, being compiled at runtime, is too slow for that. I've already made a start on it and it's called SilviSoft Crystal. I will be releasing it... not too soon
So, sorry

Ya, kind of figured you would say that...

Well I wasn't going to make a real OS with Squeak! it was only going to act like it. I'm going to make a real OS with Soyl

Why do you still insist on that? Now I know it has gone kinda down hill, but I am starting over! So you are doing something also?
