Unfortunately, if time travel ever became real, and, assuming you could then interact with the people in the past rather than simply observe, there would be at least some evidence of something strange happening in the past- somehow, Lincoln was never killed, somehow Kennedy was never killed, money or artifacts mysteriously disappearing, catching a glimpse of some weird person appearing in a weird spot, etc.
That is, assuming that a time traveler didn't kill Lincoln.![]()

But no one will notice the changes because our memories will change with the changing of the events. Who knows, maybe someone went back in time and did convince Booth to kill him.

But, also assuming that time travel at one point becomes simple, available to the public, and hardly expensive, wouldn't there be someone stupid enough to reveal himself to someone from the past, or appear in front of someone? Secondly, though it would change the future, there would still be evidence that a time traveler was there (if he wasn't careful). Thirdly, if one person at time A traveled to 4:00 AM at the day of Lincoln being shot, and then another person at time B traveled to 4:00 AM at the day of Lincoln being shot, those people would be in the same place at the same time, though they left at different times. Meaning they would meet. Also, assuming that the day of Lincoln being shot is a popular place, a ton of people appearing at once would be deemed strange by townsfolk, and quite possibly written down somewhere, would it not?

XD actually, I doubt that's true, we're all too complex for that to be true, but I guess it's possible.
WHOA! I JUST LOOKED UP DAYMARES AND IT'S A WORD THAT ORIGINATED IN THE 17th CENTURY! Mind = blown.
Anyways, you just gave me a great idea for a story, now I just need to build on it.

Well, time travel to the past may not be possible, but it may be possible to travel to the future. It uses Einstein's theory of relativity. Basically, the faster you go, the slower time goes, and if you go to the speed of light, time stops. at least for the particle or the things inside. So let's say we built a rocket train that went around the circumfence of the earth, and it traveled near the speed of light. You can't have it go the exact speed of light of course, because that would give it infinite velocity. Basically, inside the train what would be a two week trip would take you forwards in time 100 years.
Of course, there would be no way to get back

Actually, read the books called "Epic" and "Saga". Both deal with the sort of things found in the movie, but in a different gaming way.
