Hey guys,
If there was ever a new Scratch program (which there will be, I'm sure), I would want new costumes for a sprite. For example, I've been trying to find SpongeBob, Gary, Larry the Lobster, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, Plankton, Mrs. Puff, all the characters from "SpongeBob SquarePants." No sight. So I have to download or draw a picture for it. And I'm tired of doing it all the time. That's why I suggest like HUNDREDS of new costumes should be in the next version of Scratch. That could mean hundreds, thousands, or even millions of wonderful projects could pop up on this website. If you guys have any ideas for costumes in the next version of Scratch, type it down! Hopefully new costumes will appear in the next version of Scratch.

i find that the pre-set sprites arent very useful to me
but i enjoy drawing my sprites so it doesnt matter
if you are finding it difficult to make sprites on paint, DONT USE PAINT!... or at least, dont ONLY use paint, there are thousands of free programs on the internet which you can use to make drawing easier
i use many programs to make simple pictures
eg. (stick figure based picture)
pivot stickfigure animator
----> arrange figures the way you want them
----> add it as a slide and play with repeat on to remove the dots
----> print screen (Fn+Prt Sc for laptops, dunno for PCs)
paint
----> paste image
----> crop (bring edges in)
----> make any necessary changes
----> save
----> re-open in new window
paint 2
----> mark the foundations of the backdrop
----> highlight sticks and clear
----> finish backdrop
paint 1
----> (Ctrl+A & Ctrl+C)
paint 2
----> paste onto backdrop (remember to make the background of the imported image see-through)
----> save
----> re-open in new window
paint 3
----> (Ctrl+A & Del)
----> enlarge page a little (NOT zoom)
----> mark a diagonal from the top left corner
paint 2
----> (Ctrl+A & Ctrl+C)
paint 3
----> paste image and align it with the diagonal
----> mark diagonal from top right of imported image and rewidth the page accordingly
----> bring the bottom of the page down to the prefered length
----> decorate the margins as you wish
----> add slogan/caption if required
this looks complicated but its quite simple and and it only takes ten minutes or less to make a decent picture with this method
here is the end result:

But I don't like drawing the pictures.
Just look how the real picture looks like:

And look how I draw:

Google sprites. These are sites that have sprites, hundreds of them. I would recommend Spriter's resource. www.spriters-resource.com/

I know. I tried editing it (not using Image Shack). Whoops! How do you get Image Shack?

You registered on: March 6, 2008
My birthday: March 9, 1999 (that doesn't mean that I had only one birthday! I'm 9!)

See my Guitar Hero 4 project--and PLEASE comment on it! I haven't had a comment since I was born (not really. Probably a couple days). https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/ilovescratch1/152378

if there was millions of pre-made sprites don't you think the download would be a bit big??

google.com... it works

Also, SpongeBob, Mario, etc. are copyrighted, so if the Scratch Team included them with Scratch, they could risk getting a lawsuit.

either look on sprite websites, or just make them your selfs, scratch isn't there to give you everything, you have to sometimes make it your selfs...

I agree with the new sprites idea. I think there should be more sprites. But I also think there should be more sounds available.

The problem with this is that you'd need millions of new costumes and premade sprites. The demand would be overwhelming, with a large number of requests.

Honestly, I think it's a better idea to draw your own. It's more creativity! Using pre-made sprites is okay; just don't use them all the time.
Cheer up! There are websites out there where you can get sprites.
You know what? It wouldn't be too bad if they added more sprites and sounds to Scratch...
