OK, random question, I know, but do you prefer using pen or pencil? Are there certain things you like to write in pen and certain things you write in pencil? Do any of your teachers require you to use one or the other? Do you have any cool pens or pencils?

Pencil. One word: eraser.

Pens.
My math, science, and art teachers require us to use pencils. the others dont care.
I'm back. Here's a Kento/Shori kiss.Offline
Pen. I love the way ink looks on paper (and hands), and pencil just looks.. Eh. The color is all grayish and faded and- Yeah, I prefer the bold marks of pen
My science teacher makes us write our homework down in our agenda with blue or black ink, and with tests that they use that scanning thing with we have to use pencil, but aside from that the teachers usually give us a choice
Except in math- We've been told to use only pencil to solve problems and whatnot, but thats understandable

Pencils, although they smudge A LOT. I ruin all of my drawings by their soft lead. Still, I can smudge pen ink so I guess pencil? I can't live without erasing.

I'm not required to use pen in any of my classes, but I use it anyway because pen looks nicer. Plus, writting 45 mintes straight with a pencil in college writting class is just asking for hand cramps

i usually end up using pencil because you can erase it, but i like pens better
gives a much bolder look but i always accidentally make the final product in pencil because i just keep drawing and forget to change utensils
stick with pen its better if you go into art later
actually no if you go into art you want charcoal but thats messy so i dont use it

Pencil - there's erasers, and it lasts longer [citation needed]. I would have mechanical pencils but.... replacing led can be a hassle.

How does pen make it all that much better?

I suppose I should answer my own questions, eh?
I like them both, although I use pencil most of the time. This year, the only time I am required to use pen is for Chem lab books, although last year I needed to use pen in English too. I'm pretty sure my math teacher requires us to use pencil, but I'm not sure. I always use pen for timed essays, because then I can't waste time erasing.

I'm not sure if this is just me, but I can write very long with a pencil without it hurting my hand
That's why I need a pen, because pens are smoother and allow me to write much longer.
I've trained myself in writting in pen for a while, and now I rarely make mistakes with pen
Even when I don't need a pencil and I'm like writting math problems, I still use pen xD

Both hurt my hand after a while. I've had many hand cramps from writing llooooonnnnnngggg Discussion of Theories for Chem (with pen.)
Anyone left-handed? Do you get lead all over the side of your had when you write with pencil? I do.

YES!
...so I think I prefer pen, although I'm still getting used to the slippery-ness because I was only got my "Pen Licence" 1 week ago.
