Random Popularness?

I usually get about 0-3 messages every other day. A nice, slow, little Scratch account. Like everyone else in Scratch, I think it would be nice to be famous. Being famous would be pretty cool, I'd get tons of messages, I'd be recognized and stuff. But it's a pretty far-fetched idea, and I didn't think it was going to happen any time soon, so I decided I would never be one of those famous people, and get on with my life.

Three days ago, I put one of my projects in Scratch Design Studio: Tutorials. The project was shared over a year and a half ago. So, the next day, I have 27 messages. I was not on scratch the second day, and today I had 41 messages. Now don't get me wrong, I do like getting this attention, but that is pretty weird.

Last time I put my project in a Scratch Design Studio gallery, not much happened. This project, and the two others that got "popular" were just normal projects, and they were kind of old. It makes me wonder what happened. Why am I suddenly popular? What happened?

Re: Random Popularness?

Maybe the ones that you put in got front-paged because of SDS this time and they didn't before.

This happens to me.
Sometimes things I put in design studio get 600 views, sometimes they get 60.
It all depends on the screenshot.

Re: Random Popularness?

Mmmm... 600 views.
My best project (ping pong) has 170 and thats a really basic one.
It all depends on whether it looks good or not
And sometimes when you post it
But the better the projects the more views!!!

Re: Random Popularness?

It depends on the time you uploaded it. If lots of  people were on scratch and hardly anyone puts his/her projects in SDS. I also agree with the scratchers who posted.

Re: Random Popularness?

I think it would be 'Random Popularity'  tongue

But, to quote swifty2, sometimes popularity is just luck.
