Here's something I would like to share. I made a program which you can use to view scratch projects as a bigger app on your monitor. It is called the Scratch Viewer. It is currently in the beta stage as I don't have access to every compatible OS. You will need a windows OS (98 or higher ) to use it.
I have tested it on a 20 inch monitor and the applet size was about 18 inches. You can find out more information here.
http://www.internetpotato.tk/1/post/201 … s-out.html
You can download the beta on my sites home page here.
http://www.internetpotato.tk/index.html
Sample project on a 20 inch monitor
How it works. It actually just creates applet code for the scratch project. Then it creates a new blank web page and resizes the screen.
You will get an alert each time the screen resizes.
Remember this is the beta. I will add a few more features, remove some of the alerts and remove some of the buttons on the first release.
Warning to vista users. Vista Crashes a lot. This could cause problems if this program doesn't shutdown right. If resolution doesn't change back navigate to
control panel --> appearance --> screen resolution. Set your screen resolution and restart the computer.

Good quality graphics still look great. Only those that already look pixely will become of a lower definition.

Thanks.
Added a video to the blog.

Note. The screen recording program didn't responed to the change in screen size but if you look at the popup, that is the middle of the screen. You can also tell because the buttons didn't deselect and the mouse can't go over there.

Do you have windows me?
I don't know but it might work on it. Does anyone know if windows me supports dot net framework?...
I just read that .Net framework is supported on Windows 98 or greater. Good news to those users you can now use the program.

Bump. I am posting this from the Scratch Viewer
. I'll go play some games in fullscreen now

What language did you use? Visual Basic? C#? C++? Some other? I know you wrote it in a .NET Framework language.

Looks awesome, I'm gonna test it out right now.
EDIT: Hmm, my screen has a very small resolution when I'm in safe mode, and the viewer seems to go to that when I try it out. Additionally, there's an annoying pop-up window that says changes are successful when I click on a button - is that a glitch, or is that normal?

That popup is intensional for the Beta version. Thanks for the feed back. What is your OS and screen size?
Are you using the program in safe mode or are you using it and then going into safe mode?

Visual Basic on Vista. I used Vista because that is the worst OS for programming. Upon first release I will release the source code and program files. (Open source).
Right now I just need a list of pro's, con's and bugs.

OS is Windows XP. Screen size is 1200*800. I'm not in safe mode. The odd part is that the screen resolution turns tiny with applications that have a full screen option (your viewer being one of them) just as if I was using safe mode, and I can't figure out why my computer just does that.

I'm testing the program out on an XP machine. I'll see what happens. Will post on outcome.
This program does change the resolution. So I'm not sure what you are trying to say (Does it change back?).
Also note that many people don't realise that most games change the screen resolution and this is just like it only that the beta version of this program tells you.

Ok. Glitch found.
Problem the Installer. If you don't have .Net Framework version 4 it will install it but then it will be unsuccessful in installing the viewer. Not a problem just start the installer again. This glitch is not caused by the program itself but by Microsoft.
@Cheddargirl. It works fine on XP. I'm not sure what the problem is. When the screen resolution changes does it only fill up part of the screen?

The resolution only changes when I try to go into full screen mode (I believe the change is to 800*600, the screen in the center with a ridiculously huge black border). Resolution changes back when I exit out of full screen mode.
I have feeling that me resolution bug has to deal more with my computer than your viewing program. I had a similar problem when using this software [a practice run of a computer-based test] - using the program at full-screen also caused the resolution to change, but it changes back to regular size when I quit the program.

I don't have a mac to program on. I will release the source code on first release and people could use that to put it on other OS's.

That's normal. The Scratch Viewer changes the resolution (to 640x480) when going into full screen mode to create the illusion that it's in full screen, but what's really happening is that you're going into a small resolution and it's stretching to fill the screen, thus making the viewer look big, although in reality it's the same size (because actually enlarging the Java player would mess up the project's graphics because the normal stage in Scratch is at a fixed resolution).

That's probably normal too. There are lots of programs that change the resolution when going into full screen mode, and, sometimes, there's an option to change the resolution to match your normal one.

Actually, I find that odd. Theoretically, the Java applet could be expanded to at least twice it's size on my screen, so that size is kind of what I would be expecting when I run the Scratch Viewer (at least, this is the impression I'm getting when reading what-the's description of the program).

Java applet normal size is
X 482
Y 387
Program makes resolution
X 640
Y 480
482/640 = 75% of X pixels
387/480 = 80% of Y pixels.
About 15 - 20% of the screen is still blank . As I said on a 20 inch monitor thats about 2 or 3 inches from each side.
For me it expands from 14 cm in width to 30 cm in width
Your resolution is for a 15 - 17 inch screen? Then you should expect something like 22-27 cm in width.
