Re: The Ubuntu Club

I have 8.10 in a VM. I am too lazy to upgrade it.

Re: The Ubuntu Club

8.10 was a pretty good release, imo 10.04 was the best.

Re: The Ubuntu Club

I have Ubuntu. (On another computer). It's very good but I can't use all the features because the computer is over 7 years old.

Install a lighter window manager such as openbox. Then install lxpanel for a panel.

It's mainly all the visual features. A 128mb built in graphics card isn't going to be enough for a 3D enviroment. Just running a slow motion low power screen saver has a very low frame rate. Did I metion that I saved this computer from going to the tip because many of the parts are in very poor condition after it over heated?

Re: The Ubuntu Club

I made my own build called Aqua Os. Made using the Suse kernel.
Otherwise Ubuntu 10.10 is the best version and is running on all my pc's.

Also has anyone heard of a free program for ubuntu called WIne?
It allows you to run *.exe's in scratch!
