This is the easiest solution for CD files.
Place the
Scratch.image
Scratch.exe
Scratch.app
Scratch.(Unix app extension)
And all the DLLs on the Scratch.exe into a CD.
For TV shows insert that into the computer and run the .sb file.
if I'm not mistaken, the Unix extension is .deb

@megamagician-the exe and app has already been resolved, no need to say great idea. You can say that in suggestions. Try not to add the look at my projects part, just wait until you get a signature and out it there.

What s/he did was make the big picture, then split it into four, and upload them. They are each a link. Also, you can click to top because of that. BBC doesn't allow for image maps. HTML does.

what is the link to the java player?

Scratch is for education reasons and there would be less to learn from other scratchers becaude they can't look at the programming.

I have started making a program in Liberty BASIC (http://www.libertybasic.com) that allows you to create a standalone (not completely standalone - uses other files such as liberty basic runtime engine, browser control, scratch java applet!) exe files and it can also add a couple of extra files to copy to cd). it uses a web browser control which embeds the scratch java applet and loads the scratch project. it is a bit experimental at the moment and is not finished. i have gone through a lot of errors so far and depending how many more times i have to debug it, it might take some time to make! i will post to this thread when i have complete my project - Scratch Project Viewer -

Something to convert scratch projects without interactive elements into movies is completely nonviable, of course, but I think that the stand-alone .jar converter would be fantastic. And as for the thing about not being able to see the code, I think that that would be outweighed by the advantages of making scratch projects more widely available.

It's called discScratchr, see this forum thread

I've made a simple way to turn a Scratch Program into an Mac Application... If anyone's interested, they can head over to sv-xt.webs.com/+jTron/ScratchAppl.zip.txt and download (⌘[Cmd]+S or ⌥[option]+⏎[return]).
You have to remove the .txt on the end, in the get info panel, because webs didn't let me upload a zip
I agree with oliversb, though. this should be only used for presentation purposes, and it shows the programming when you press escape.

I can make a version that quits when you press escape!

We currently have no plans to add an "export to movie" feature to Scratch.
We have used screen capture programs such as Camtasia (for PCs) or SnapZPro (for Macs).
Great! I'm making a website and i don't know what to do with it, so i'm doing it like swifty2's website and uploading my videos, but the website programing thing work allow scracth file formats. I don't know why.

it is posable you just have to get Ulead Gif Animator 5.Open your video and save it as a gif file but it has to be under 30 secs.!
Not really. I put in a GIF File which was around 2 minutes and it worked fine but there is a limit to the amount of space being taken by the video.

There use to be a service called ScratchVideo.tk, but it doesn't seem to be around anymore.. which is a shame.
EDIT: Worked out - you can still get to it via THIS link.. it just seems to be hosted by weebly now..

You can download Jing screen movie capture for free, and use it for your project. I have done it for scratch games, and game trailers

Hey.
I have a solution to turn Scratch projects into executable jar files.
http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=79382
It looks like that:

I showed a scratch project to school, but I put the project into full-screen and recorded it with a High-Definition camera and used a sound editing program to erase all background sounds, then I combined it with an actual video in another program and saved it all into a .MOV format.

I've searched around the Fourms, and I can't see anything about exporting Scratch to work on a Chumby device. True, it has no keyboard, and I wouldn't expect scratch to read the built-in accelerometer, but (as they used to say back in DOS days) 99% of the Scratch programs I see would either port directly to Chumby, or get there with a very minor modification (like waiting for a mouse click instead of "press space")
Chumby isn't the most visible platform (iPhone would clearly be more "sexy"), but Chumby software is flash based, Scratch already has a Flash player, the screen size is about right... and, my kids would get a kick out of seeing their stuff show up somewhere besides on the computer. Also, it would give them access to their creations when the computer is not available.
Wow, I just looked: http://www.chumby.com/pages/help
and there's actually a lot more "vibrant community" of Chumby products than I realized, when I bought my ChumbyOne, it was not as diverse.

You can convert Scratch projects to .swf files, it just takes 2 steps. Use Jens' Scratch2Exe to make it an .exe file. There are several .exe to .swf converters online. I'm surprised no one has posted this yet!
