At my school, we had a College week door decorating contest. Advisory (place where you do h/w or read) classes had 3 days to decorate it, the next day was when the judges went around, today they announced the winners.
I have my science teacher for my advisory, though that's not the point. My band class decorated their door in a way that I had to show it here.
Sorry. I took the picture with my phone, and it doesn't have a great camera.

Woah cool! Did you win?
My class was announced, we didn't win first place though. We won like third, but I'm not sure. When our teacher was announced, the class yelled.

Okay?
I think it should have more of a theme than just random doodles everywhere. It'd help it unify everything so you'd have a better chance of winning.
In fourth grade there was a scarecrow competition. I made one with my friend Amy but it was uber-ugly in the least.

Blame the teachers. 7/8th graders went in this contest.
