06dknibbs for moderator

Firstly, I'd like to thank the Scratch Team for choosing me to be a candidate, and even if I'm not chosen to be a moderator on the 20th, I'll still continue to be active and help where possible. Also, now that I am a candidate I thought it would be easier to slightly edit my existing speech instead of creating a new topic... Although in the end I've decided to create a new topic rather than bumping the old unofficial thread.  smile

Ok, so I'm 06dknibbs and I joined Scratch around 2+ years ago (I think, I don't actually remember when anymore...). In that time I've made a few projects, but eventually decided to stop for now. Since then I've spent a lot more of my time on Scratch using the forums where I usually post in New Scratch Members, All About Scratch and Troubleshooting although I read a lot of other topics elsewhere.

Lists of reasons also seem to be quite common, so.

- I consider myself to be active most of the time.

- I try to help around the forums when possible, and if I was a moderator, I'd be able to help even more.

- I've had a similar experience as a moderator in the past, although it was just on a small board which was quite active and only really consisted of deleting posts. No moving etc:

- I'm usually quite good at handing responsibilities, and I think I could do a good job as a mod If I had the chance.

- I'm 15 and normally quite mature and try to be when it's needed.

- I know a lot about Scratch which is probably quite useful.

- I also try to be literate so that my posts are understandable, as well as read posts properly so I understand what is being said before posting.

- I flag things such as inappropriate content, spam and topics in the wrong place as soon as I come across of them. As a moderator I'd actually be able to move/delete this content.

Finally, as a moderator I wouldn't really do anything different than what the current mods do. I'd delete/edit posts, move threads in the wrong place, read reports and try do deal with the quickly and generally help where/when needed. I usually spend a lot of time on the internet, and use a lot of that time on the Scratch forums. I'd also be willing to put a lot more time into helping around the forums.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to the results tomorrow. Even If I don't place 1st or 2nd the new moderators are sure to do a great job.  big_smile

Re: 06dknibbs for moderator

I might not be very active, but I remember you being nice. So you got my 1st place vote.
