Funny, I've never heard of that before
Just because it uses blocks doesn't mean it was based on Scratch
Many things use blocks

Jon (creator) actually said the block thing was based on scratch.

My mistake, the puppetmaster misinformed me
If that's true, I mean

I don't like Stencyl. Scratch is much better. The Stencyl interface is WAY over-complicated. Sure, if a programming language is more advanced it will be harder to use, but Stencyl takes that idea to a new level. I was put off of it almost the minute I started when I couldn't figure out how to create a script! You might as well have text-based coding for all that Stencyl does for you.
I'd much rather invest my time in BYOB3, which has a much more promising future ahead of it.

No it isn't?
Yes it is. Scratch has a lot of potential and a great community, while Stencyl, although new, seems like it's already at a dead end.

Scratch has huge limits
Stencyl's still in beta
You can believe what you want, though
Also, have you even seen the stencyl community? They're much more grown up

... And?
I know that, and I agree with Shadow. I'll still experiment with it.
But I don't understand why you have to script something for everything even if you're only going to use it for one object...
I don't enjoy that.

I also don't like the block system. Why 20 categories? Scratch demonstrates perfectly well that all necessary functions can be produced with the use of a few simple blocks; not 400. And BYOB3 allows for custom blocks, if there is one you are DYING to have.
And Scratch's only limitations are far and few. Just because you can't save or connect online doesn't mean it is limited.
