Scratch

This has been suggested a lot in the past; chatting has been discouraged because it takes a lot of energy to moderate a constant stream of that stuff, and because it all happens so fast in one place, you'd have to have moderators on 24/7 (and, despite the 8 or so moderators we have, we're not all on all the time) to deal with stuff. Unfortunately, it just won't be happening.

As per private messaging, I'm afraid that also won't be happening: it's a system open to abuse, and Scratch should be an open system. Again, more info from a Scratch Team member.
