Hiya, Scratchers. It's election season again, and that means I'm running for moderator! You're probably sick of these posts by now, so I'll keep this quick. If you'd like to read the long version of this, check campaign thread from the last election. Here's a little about me:
- I'm 16 years old, with Scratch curating and beta testing experience.
- I am an active user who contributes to various Scratch-related projects and posts throughout the forums.
- I would bring my experience as a Scratch community member, programmer, and generally normal teenager to the job of moderation.
As a moderator I would:
- Be vigilant about removing spam.
- Only interrupt disputes when I feel they're getting out of hand. The forums are a place where the value of ideas, but not community members, can be challenged. As a moderator that would be my golden rule when intervening.
- Try to breathe some life into the oft-forgotten FAQ section.
- Answer the questions in All About Scratch as fast and as well as possible, but no faster.
- Implement a better way for users to contact me directly without giving out my email address. Obviously, there's the Report button but as a user I would like to think that there might be a better way of gently bringing a mod's attention to a topic.
- Not breathe down your neck in Misc. I promise not to close threads just because they don't appear to be going anywhere and I want to keep the forum neat. When I do close topics, I would take a page out of the current moderators' book and justify my reasoning. If the topic owner wants to dispute this, they could contact me directly (see previous point)
- Above all, I want to be your moderator, not your mother. If you don't notice me moderating, I'm doing my job.
So why do I want to be a community moderator? Because I think it is the best way I can contribute to the community. And, despite Coolstuff's warning, it sounds like an amazing experience!
See, that was fast and painless. Vote for me, I promise that I won't let you or the community down.
Mandatory smilies:
. Pepper these into the above statement as you see fit.

There are too many great Scratchers to vote for! Aggghhhh!
(That's assuming all those I wanted to vote for will make it into the final round...)
This is quite a bit shorter than your previous rambles on the matter, during the last elections. I'm not complaining, though - you've kept your last topic up for everyone to see

I'm amazed that you're (only) 16, fullmoon. I could have sweared that you're a college student!
Hey, can somebody get me up to date on this voting business? Where and how can I vote for you?
