Werdna, thanks for your awesome base for the article!

Here's my column, Forumer... thanks again, werdna, for your awesome base!
Forumer by gnk2200
The Scratch forums are split into 30 sections, but I'll only be talking about the main ones.
*clears throat in show-offy manner* The first forum is titled 'Announcements'. As far as I know, this forum can only have topics made by the Scratch Team (except for ones moved into the forum). It's purpose is basically what it says on the box; announcements. It has all the things the ST wish to 'announce' to the public, for example there was a topic about Clutter and what it is (http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=48309).
The second forum is 'New Scratchers'. It is used by new Scratchers introducing themselves and Scratchers giving helpful advice and tips to new scratchers.
The third is called 'Show & Tell'. Here people 'show and tell' others about their newest projects/galleries.
The fourth is 'FAQ'. It stands for 'frequently asked questions', and has all the things you might ever want to now about Scratch (well, some of them.
). However, it is rarely used and few people post in it.
The fifth is 'All About Scratch' or 'AAS', and has a large variety of topics. It has anything related to Scratch, from questions to answers.
Thank you to werdna123 for this awesome intro to the forums!
As much as werdna has already told, there is always much more to learn about the forums!
For example, there is another entire forum, plus sections of the forums that aren't always there. Like...
The Collab Challenge 2011 forum. If you don't know, the collab challenge is a big contest where a group of Scratchers work together to create a project using three odd sprites. This one will only be up and running while the challenge for 2011 is still going on.
The TBG forum. This is an entire extra forum for games - Text Based Games! For example, you could post a would-you-rather topic, an add-your... project, any type of project that involves humor and play. That's what the TBG forum is for! Nothing is disgraced for randomness, but look out! There's a whole new set of mods.
Now that we know some interesting extras to the forums, there's a lot more to know, like adding BBC Code, how to be respectful, and steering clear of trouble. So, just to get the basics laid flat out, here are some tips to being respectful and earning respect.
-Always check what you have to say before you send it. Humor is harder to understand over the internet.
-Simple: Remember your manners! If you wouldn't say it out loud, don't say it in the forums. This is called netiquette and is an entirely different subject.
-Unless you are referring to them in a positive way or complimenting them, don't point a Scratcher out for doing something wrong.
-Very, very simple - don't be mean.
-If it seems like it does not follow these tips, don't post it. Once you post, it's out there for people to see. Even if you delete or edit your post, people will remember what you said.
-Remember, forgetting respect can lead to punishment - yes, mods and admin will not hesitate; punishment is not good, but they will do it if they have to.
Thanks for reading Forumer, and Scratch on!
Special notices: Thanks to werdna123 for an awesome intro to the forums.

can i do the guide to basic scratch starters? i'm thinking each issue I'll give a tutorial on how to do a certain feature in scratch (like gravity, shooting, etc.)

I think werdna already covered that

Shoot.
Sorry, but I thought you guys would understand that a column is REALLY short. Like less than 200 words.
That's okay, though. Just, in the future, remember that columns are rather short. Like snippets.
Werdna's basic scratch starts is a bit long, but otherwise good.
The point is to have something to talk about each month. So find something you could talk about for a while, and and write.
I'll update the front.
iNetmaster: Would you choose an article under articles not taken please?

Yeah so I'll do things like tell you good bases to remix. Not full tutorials.

We could sort of cut them down, taking only the important info?

If you want them shorter, if it's okay with werdna, I could leave out her article and redo my article.

Uh... Do whatever. Currently, length is not an issue. I can change things later. I also edit my school newspaper, so I actually do have some experience in trimming down and making larger articles.
iNetMaster: Great. Updating first page.

Werdna: Sorry if I hurt your feelings... I just thought because iCode wanted columns shorter... it's a great article!
