Gravity

We should have a block that simulates and creates gravity so we can make more games. We won't have to make the whole jump thing and projects will be so much easier.

Re: Gravity

Features in Scratch are supposed to be easy for people to understand - I think having built-in gravity would confuse new Scratchers.  hmm

Anyway, it feels like too much to give fully functional gravity - it's nice to make some things simple, but you don't want to go too far or you'll never learn much programming.

Gravity isn't that hard to create in Scratch... it's mainly velocity for simple projects.

If it's possible to create a feature, I do not recommend the scratch team making a block for that. show/hide lists are impossible to create using current blocks, so that is a feature they should make. LIke jonathanpb said, it might be useful to have it, but then they might as well make the whole game for you. scratch is different from like... sims carnival in a way. you get to create whatever you want. it's not "make your map and we will make a game for you" it's more like, start from SCRATCH and make a game. that way it's more fun.
