This forum as a HUGE resource for newbies

I've just spent about 3 hours trawling through this entire forum picking out questions and answers to a vast range of queries. Two thoughts struck me:

(1)  Newbies like myself might think our queries are silly or too simple, but in truth, someone else has probably already asked the same question(s) beforehand and the answer(s) will be here in the back-pages. I've gathered information about such topics as ....

3d effects
background scrolling effects
barriers to make a sprite stop or turn
colour changing
costume changing and 'going back to a 'previous' costume
countdown timers
cueing audio fx to action
floating effects as for a ghost sprite
intro screens for more than one project
music and soundloops played continuously over a whole project
paddle actions and sprite-bouncing
random
scoring systems
slider creation
soundloops
speed control
sprite control and creation topics (far too many to list)
subtitles
timers
variables

(2)  It probably can't be done, but it's a shame that forum contributions can't also be tagged so that Scratchers could quickly search for previous 'conversations' about a topic that interests or confuses them.

Re: This forum as a HUGE resource for newbies

Hi mohlar,

This is great.  We are thinking of ways to support Scratch programmers aside from our current FAQ (http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewforum.php?id=11) and support pages (http://scratch.mit.edu/howto).  These categories will be helpful for us as we move forward and create more materials.

Thanks!
