So I decided to compare my forum post count to my project post count..

If you haven't realized yet, you can see how many comments you have made on the main website by going to your user page (you will see it under 'Comment List').

As of this moment, I saw that I have 2515 comments made on projects, 3102 comments made on the forums, which means I make about 600 comments more on the forums than on the main website (which makes me feel kind of sad, but, then again, I'm a moderator so I'm kind of expected to deal more with the forums than most other users).

Just out of curiosity, what is your ratio of project comments to forum comments? Does it seem to describe your usage on the Scratch site? Why or why not?

Re: So I decided to compare my forum post count to my project post count..

I have about 4500 posts, and 150 comments.
So, thats 1:30, right?  hmm  It does show how I use the site, kind of. But, I find it kind of awkward to praise someone's project through a comment, so I hardly ever comment, anyway. I just favorite/love-it, depending on how much I like it.

If you count all of my accounts it's about 1:10

I am urhungry's alternate account with a cooler username. Your argument is invalid.

Yeah, that's 1:30.

Hmm... you find it awkward to type comments... I wonder if this is similar to what is going on dA right now, where people mass fave art pieces, stock, and code instead of typing in a comment because they find it so hard to type in something meaningful.

Calculate it as project comments to forum comments.  smile

If you have trouble calculating the ratio because the numbers do not divide so well, just post the number of project comments and forum comments and talk about how you feel about those statistics.  smile

Re: So I decided to compare my forum post count to my project post count..

4705 comments, 4560 posts.

145 more site comments, still going strong.  smile

I accumulated most of those years ago though, my forum posts will surely surpass comments soon.

Will I get to 5000 in the site or the forums first? Place your bet now!  lol

Okay so I have about 1900 posts, and *checks page*  950 comments so my ratio would be....

Eh, I don't want to do all the math. About 2:1

Looks at registration.

You must spam comments or something.

I registered on the forums two years ago, that is. But, that happens to be the same year I registered on the main site, too. It isn't always going to be the same for everone, though. I knew about the site in 07, but didn't bother to use it, let alone register, until late 08.
I'm an 08er for both the forums and the main site. I haven't really used either since this summer, though.

About 4000 comments and about 2600 forum posts.  So that's about a 20:13 ratio towards main site comments.  smile
