*UPDATE* PRODUCTION ON DAWN OF DARKNESS BEGAN OFFICIALLY 4-12-08. AND IS ROUGHLY 2% DONE. SAVE/LOAD MECHANIC CURRENTLY WORKING!

How did you create a save/load mechanic? It is impossible to save data when running projects from the java player. The best you can do is come up with a password system or make the user download the project and manually save the variables themselves.

Correct. I think that he's just saying this to make it look good.

I completely agree. Also the 4-disk thing. You can't put scratch on more than one disk. It's either 1 or nothing (unless you use Jens' Scratch2EXE thing)

You CAN actully save your game, but you must NOT leave scratch. There can be a variable that keep it the same.

Re: TsunamI Enterprises (Fantasy RPG Development Team)

And i know EXACTLY who you are. You are "zachandrew" (and some numbers). I know this because usually the show and tell section is flooded with zachandrews stuff, but suddenly, it stopped. And the only person who bump's this much is zachandrew. And usually, people dont look at your work if your name is zachandrew. So you made this name. It worked. And now your reasurring people its ognna be really great by saying it has save mechanism, when really you will be cheating them to do all the work. Case closed. Any debators?

WRONG! Not everything is possible, especially considering the limited capabilities of scratch. Saving data to the hard disk is one of the many things scratch can't do. There are infinite possibilities but that doesn't mean you can program a full Final Fantasy game on it.

If you did actually create some sort of save/load function I would be more than happy to find out how it works.

Re: TsunamI Enterprises (Fantasy RPG Development Team)

I think you, Archmage, is misunderstanding my SAVE/LOAD mechanic. As for coolstuff & heybrian as well. My System has nothing to do with saving to a hardisk, no, far from it.whoo, man you're off. The company calls it Scratch's first Virtual Saving system, or VSS. After the release of dawn of Heaven, VSS will be open to all RPG, and Adventure games, Readily able to be ported to those  two genres, for everyones use. It would be against company policies to share how it works 2 months ahead of time, so i cant. But Archmage, get yourself together, I read in the thread "how old are you guys" that you were 17. From the way you're behaving towards me, I'd say you're no older than 11.  hmm

I just want to Take this time out to say that..........What does everyone have against me? I come on here, decide to share with the scratch community my revolutionary ideas & I get attacked by People who don't believe I can do what I say I can do, Man, I've read through my entire thread, starting from Page one, And haven't read a single post where I teased, or flamed anyone. i was patient throughout. Why do it to me? Heybrian_  tearing down every promise that I make, Archmage disputing every function in my game as improbable, and a few random people that come out of nowhere agreeing with them. Rockie is, so far, the only one actually  thinking postive about my game, and sonicpops. The two of you I thank. As for all the rest of the few I've named, If you don't like or believe anything I'm saying, Do not continue to post here at all. Don't you think it's distracting when I'm trying to make all these promises come true by working on my game, and I think to myself " Maybe I should check online, and go to my thread, Probably someone wants to Join." And when I get here, All I get is either assumptions on who I am, flamed on the promises you all see as impossible, or about How I BUMP MY OWN THREAD!??!? Come on, get real! This is it, no more of this stuff, fellas. Don't reply unless you have a question or want to join.Thankyou  sad

Don't feel bad Archmage and Heybrian think they're better than everyone else, and Archmage seems to thinks he's the greatest member of scratch, I think he thinks he know everything, don't take it like everypne hates you. I can't wait for the game to come out! You have not shown yourself to be competent enough to complete a large RPG. You have no other completed games or demonstrations of your skill (aside from that incomplete demo project). Not to mention that you don't seem to have planned anything out. I have seen other threads like this not only on these forums but also on actionscripting forums. Most of the time these projects fail because the organizer doesn't know what they are doing. I am not convinced that you will be able to complete this game and until I see some proof that someone in your group knows how to script a  RPG such as the one you describe I will remain unconvinced.

I think that if Tsunami_Enterprises believes he (I take it you're a 'he') can make an effective lare RPG he can and you say he hasn't got any other completed games maybe he has and he's worked on them for ages but has decided not to share them because he doesn't want to be scrutinised over his every move, I think that you are mean not to believe in him just because you are reasonably good at Scratch doesn't mean you can say "Oh you'll be able to do this" and "That's impossible" why don't you just wait for launch day and make you decisions then

P.S Tsunami_Enerprises you could maybe do like a password thing so you can in effect 'load' without having to be on Scratch

Actually, somewhere on the forums I read that Archmage said that he is actually just your average Scratcher, but people just think he did stuff that ARE GREAT when really they are perfectly simple.

As for me, I have nothing against your Tsunamni Enterprises other than you making too big a deal about it.

See the thing is that I see these kinds of threads all the time on forums where the leader says they will make a spectacular game and some others believe the leader is capable and the game doesn't even get off the ground. It further worries me when they claim they have done a lot of work and know what they are doing but show no proof of it. If this was a solo project I wouldn't care but since he is getting people to join him it upsets me because if this fails many people would have wasted their time and effort.

Sorry if I upset anyone I am just sick of these kinds of threads popping up on every game programming forum I go to.

Agreed. Too many people are making these 'companies' and try to say that their game is as good as it can possibly be, and it either never comes out or turns out to be rubbish. Again, I say you are making too big a deal of this.

Yes, I guess I have been a bit of a pest but it really upsets me when I see a leader run a project like this one into the ground when other groups members have put time and effort into the project.

This will be my last post on this thread.

I better clean a faulse trail. First of all, people like me and archmage think your faking when you say you have a save mechanism because 1, we have no idea how good you are at programing because no one knows who you are, 2, thats impossible, 3, Youve been saying this will be the best game on scratch because you felt like it. The same thing happened to dingdong (which makes me think you are very well him) with his "gray sky" game. He expected ALOT of love-its but he only got three. Thats why.

I am hopeful all this jittering will stop after the release (agreed that i am average at scratch programming) but hey why are you quarrelling!! isn't scratch all about sharing ideas, games and stuff? it does'nt mean somethings impossible if you have'nt a clue.

A lot of barking would stop if you could give us a solid date of when your game will be released. This is just my opinion and i am not against you (Tsunami_Enterprises) or anybody else.
I am eagerly awaiting your game and hope ypu remain as opmistic as ever, good luck.

So I don't qant to here that "you didn't start on it."
