3D project idea plz..

Ummm, I wanted to do the following (beware: below is a very hard project idea)
3D Word: type in your text, press space, and it magically appears spinning in 3D!
Specs: 1s1s, Yeah that's it 
How it would work: a sprite programmed with a costume for each letter uses the script for 3D Laser Writer (remember when that was popular?) but does that script about 10 times, moving slightly each time to simulate 3D.
Challenge: make it spin like a globe rather than an on-top view
Other: I'm willing to collaborate on this, I'm very good at 3D
What do you think?
