Information regarding students and galleries

Hello everyone!!

I am an educator teaching SCRATCH at a high school and was wondering if there is any concrete information onsite about legal issues regarding students publishing their games to the public. Specifically, if anyone else uses a media release for the students or what liabilities there may be.

I would assume that with the project being open source, there is no problem but I need to make absolutely sure. There is some confusion regarding this between myself and my supervisors.

Any information would be appreciated...

Thanks!

Re: Information regarding students and galleries

A lot will depend on your district's policies about students sharing their work publicly.
Many schools have a blanket release at the beginning of the school year that allows student work to be displayed on web sites or submitted to contests.  Others have no policy and leave it to the teachers, still others prohibit any release of the student names except through the principal's office.
