Helpful things they don't mention in tutorials

This is for anything you figured out that's helpful in scratch. For example, you can clear the pen by clicking the clear block while still in the blocks list- this works with Any block, such as steps, graphic effects, etc.

Feel free to add anything you find useful.

tip 1- you don't need to drag a block into the scripting pane to run it, you can just click on it. This is helpful of you don't want to reset EVERYTHING after a test, or for moving sprites, clearing the pen, etc.

tip 2- you can just type the x and y orientation you want into a go to "x y" block and click it to pu the sprite there.

tip 3- put the sprite where you want it, then click the "motion blocks" section and the "go to x y" blok will already have the current x  y orientation of the sprite in it.

Top4- you can drag a block back into the block library to delete it.

Interesting idea for a topic! I find it really handy that double-clicking blocks causes them to run; if I have to reset something because my scripts screwed up, I needn't bother making a script for it. I just need to double-click the appropriate block.  smile

Actually, in Scratch 1.4, you only have to single-click.

My addition is that you can drag blocks back to the block library to delete them.

Similar to coolstuff's trick, you can drag the set/change x/y blocks onto the scripting pane, and just change their values, then click them to place sprites more accurately.
