Why what's wrong?
New Scratchers are currently barred from voting for moderators since they usually are not too familiar with the candidates.

I'm sure it'll be gone for you soon, since you've been one for quite a while

Good luck to all of the candidates, now that the elections are open of course...
Just one thing; on the webpage, the technical title says "Scratch | 's Stuff". I think that should be fixed...

Let me make sure I have this right: the moderators also have a role in the main website, and not just the forums, right? If so, what exactly do they do other than the Scratch Design Studio work?

well, obviously reporting inappropriate comments and projects would be part of their job, and i think they can remove comments and projects themselves. not 100% sure, though.

Not much, really. I asked about this a while ago, and we would not have the power to remove projects because too much controversy can stem from that. I've never really gotten that clear an answer, really...

It's been delayed a bit. ST gets a lot of flak for removing projects, but we feel we do need to do it to make sure many people feel comfortable participating (or letting their kids participate) on Scratch. But we don't want people blaming community mods for having their stuff removed.
If we do implement this, it will be an ability to provisionally remove projects. If a mod flags one, it'll become invisible until an ST member reviews it, and decides if it should come back or stay down. That way it's on us, however it ends up.

I disagree. I prepared my community moderator speech for almost a year in advance. I got booted because I was only a single year to young.

You both seem confused
It's about moderators not modifications

Eh, 'modification' can mean 'a change' - and the new rule (what kingofdallamas was talking about) certainly was a change.

Yes.

This may seem weird, but I had a dream last night that I became a moderator. It turned out that the Scratch Team had a huge underground base for moderating the Scratch website

I don't think there needs to be an election for a while; there are enough moderator already and they seem to be doing an okay job...
This is just my opinion though

This time of year seems to be a really slow season for moderation...Forum activity tends to pick up during the summer so I bet we'll see some more elections before then, but I have absolutely no idea how true this is.
