Just felt like posting about this.
For Pre-Algebra math homework at my school, most of it is all online, on a system called "Assistments". You can see a video about how it works here
. It's pretty cool. My teacher makes me have to show my work though, so it makes the homework about 2x longer. Firstly, there's different kinds of assignments...
A) Normal homework: 10, 20, or 30 questions usually. All set questions.
B) Mastery homework: Up to 10 questions mostly the same, you have to get 3 in a row to pass - or else you need help ;P.
C) ARRS homework: Usually always Friday, it takes one question from each mastery homework you've done, and compiles it into one big test. Whichever questions you get wrong, you have to do the equivalent mastery assignment again to show that you remember it again.
Sadly, my teacher is obsessed with homework, so having no homework on any one day (including the weekends) is a rarity
. Nevertheless the system is good. If you get it wrong, or you need help, it gives you hints (no, you don't need "hint coins" or something like that xD), which explain well how to do the problem. And, there are "bug messages", so if you made a common mistake, then it tells you the error you made. So it's pretty cool
.
As for discussing, what's the highest tech things your school has? In my (public) school, there's also sun ceiling lights, touch-boards (ex. projectors, but the board is electronic so it's like a mega touch-screen - great for slideshows, and drawing while they're calling the buses :3).

*goes watch a video about ALEKS*
looks interesting...
Well I never said Assistments was fun, but it's better than worksheets. Sadly, I think online math homework ends up using more paper because of showing long work, so it's not exactly eco-friendly, due to the teachers.

You school is high tech. Unlike mine.
That makes two.
BTW, it's very nice to advertise for other people's project. I'm sure you made iCode's day.

Yes... but....
THEY USE MACS!!!! D: D: D: D: the horror!
Even though, the Elementary and High School in my district uses PCs - though that doesn't stop them from using macs ><.

At my school, the macs pwn the pcs, because the pcs are from, like, 2001.
It's a disaster.

My school has projectors and Smartboards. In some classrooms, they also have tablet screen computers integrated up together (one computer can be used to control the others).
I think their biggest tech leap is the use of the BlackBoard system, where teachers submit their notes online to students, and students submit their homework online to the teachers.

My school has the same as yours, except lacking the blackboard.

I have something terrible called uTexas for chemistry. It's really nerve-wracking because you can lose so many points on stupid mistakes that it's actually possible to get a negative score!

BTW, why do you put "(smiley)-12three-(smiley)" at the end of your posts?

1. Too lazy to put it in sig.
2. Won't fit in sig.
3. It's ma nu thang (DC Talk Album)
4. Why not?
Others reasons that I forget.

It is. I like the BlackBoard system the most - since teachers submit their notes online, I can see the lesson before it's given out, and I can print out the notes and bring them to class instead of writing it all down. The teachers like it too because it gives them the opportunity to spend less time writing on the board and more focused on explaining the lecture.

Awesome!
Just wondering, because it sounds like you're in college, what's your favorite class?
(sorry for getting a little off-topic)

BTW, I've been working on my homework for the past few minutes, and I'm guess I'm a bit lucky, because some of the questions are exactly the same as previous ones

I enjoyed the science classes and IT classes the most. I think my most favorite would happen to be the Calculus IT workshop and learning how to use Wolfram's Mathematica to calculate problems.
This year I'm learning about transport phenomena, which is pretty cool (kudos to anybody who knows what it is without looking it up).

=3 I do ALL my work online. It's awesome ^^
You may think because of that I'm some nerd living in my parents basement not doing anything out of the basement.
That's false. I actually see people. On Mondays and Wednesdays they have an art school when people can learn things like music, 2d and 3d art, dance, singing, and acting/theater stuff all day. It's EPIC.
I used to use something called StudyIsland in my old school. That was okay, cuz there were some educational games to play after completing the tests.

Wu-tang's Manmootica? XD
Sorry I just never heard of that method. Nor do I know what Calculus IT is or the Transport Phenomena. The only class I recognized is "Science". XD Sorry, I'm in Middle School :S
