The Difference Between Remixing and Copying

I am posting this because someone recently copied a project. I tried to explain to him/her that copying is bad and he/she should remove the project. He/she said that I was "just being mean". He/she said that he/she "remixed it because he/she liked it".

I don't like to see people copying other people's projects. Here is the difference between remixing and copying.

Remixing: Remixing a project means you download a project, change something (a major change, not something small like changing the background color), and reupload it. You also give credit to the original creator in the project and/or in the project itself. Remixing is okay and is encouraged on Scratch.

Copying: Copying means you upload someone else's project without changing anything. Copying is disrespectful and bad, and will likely make the original creator unhappy. If you see someone copying another person's project, tell the original creator and give them a link to the copy.

You can read about copying and what to do about it here.

Note to moderators: Sorry if this is a duplicate. I couldn't look through hundreds of pages of old topics.

Everything is better when you add a little cheddar, because when you have cheese your life is at ease  smile
