I wonder how many candidates there'll be if there's another election. There were 8 last time because there were 4 positions to be filled, but there probably won't be as many open spots this time, so maybe there won't be as many candidates?

... Which would mean even more competition.
I'd say maybe 2 or 3 people would be accepted as candidates, if your theory is right.

I'd think that there'd be a ratio similar to the one from the first election; it would be the amount of candidates x 2, so maybe 4-6?

You have to be active on the forums for a total of 6 months - so if the elections are held in November, you may be able to run for moderator.

Well - there were a few requirements, listed on this page, and the pages that are linked to on it. The Scratch Team might decide to change some of the requirements slightly for the new election, but those are probably going to be more or less how the requirements will be, so you might want to check them out ^^

Ahaha, yep! We're all waiting patiently for it.
Last I checked, the Scratch Team is looking into the election, and preparing. So I think we can almost definitely say there will be one, unless Luke Skywalker mistakes Earth for the Death Star and destroys MIT.

Now, everyone, you have to be 14+ and have your parents permission.
SO, who's still running? Wait no; We should probably move discussion to the thread in announcements.

Ah, just so everyone has an idea what's going on:
There's been a few changes to the moderator candidate guidelines. If you plan on running to become a moderator, see the announcement here as the changes might affect your eligibility to run for mod.

I'm on the beard stage
It's when you grow a beard
But it's not really anything to do with the election
Still, I have to admit that a deviously devious grin appeared on my face from ear to ear when I heard about the 14+ rule

Please keep an eye on the announcements thread as well, so we can keep the discussion organized. I've answered a few questions there that are relevant.

Wow, the exact same thing happened to me. First I was sad, then angry.
