That image dates back to May 9th 2005... was Scratch really in development for that long? If so, that's an amazing find. also, 2000th post
Might be an early development version...

I just found an exact copy of the game pretty much. Probably not EXACT.

That's just odd. And ugly.

There should also be a

When [] shouted is the equivalent of When I receive [].
Look like [] is switch to costume [].
You could mod the blocks plugin and add those blocks.

I think that image was from before the official Scratch was released! It was probably a beta version. It is said to be somewhere around Scratch 0.2! As it happens, I'm thinking of making a Scratch mod at the moment based around that. I'd love to be able to download it (forgive me for my love of classical programs!)

I also think that there should be 2 modes in Scratch. One consists of a play button instead of the green flag, and the old interface. The other is normal.
when gf clicked wait until scratch (2.0) is out set (is Scratch 2.0 out?)to[true!] say:(yes!) for (pick random (60) to (120)) secs

That most likely wasn't the finished design, they were probably focusing more on the programming side of things at that point.

To fit with the "When shouted" block there's this:
shout [ ]Have you also noticed instead of dropdown lists there's this:
look like [ ]

I actually like that design better! It seems to be more colorful and appealing. Also, it has a much easier to use and understand interface! Like this:
when play button clicked shout [ ]

Sorry, but the site's URL changed. http://web.archive.org/web/200512301503 … k/scratch/ is the oldest site.
I've looked at that before. Isn't it so different and simple. I'm interested. Also, did you know that in that version of scratch you could make your own blocks?!

Wow, looks like Scratch 0.1 had some sort of BYOB!!!
What are you talking about? Those are the old version of broadcasts. Instead of
[broadcast [ ]] and [when I recieve [ ]]
It was
[shout ( )] and [when ( ) shouted].
Nope, you could build your own blocks!
