No sound in SOAS

Hi,

I installed Sugar On A Stick (Blueberry) on a on a netbook.  Problem is, there is no sound when running the Scratch activity.  I have filed a bug report at http://bugs.sugarlabs.org/ticket/2231
but have not got a reaction so far, so I thought I'd ask here.

Any ideas for resolving this would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Ray

Try using the Mirabelle (v3) version of SoaS. Blueberry (v2 I think) is outdated. Hope this helps  wink

Re: No sound in SOAS

No sound in Mirabelle either.  Anyway, this seems to be a Squeak rather than a Scratch issue.   I'll try squeak.org.

thanks,

Ray

Are you using the one found on activities.sugarlabs.org?
I've heard of an updated version that's not on there but I lost the link...

Re: No sound in SOAS

Yes.  Anyway, I found a workaround and updated the bug report to reflect it: http://bugs.sugarlabs.org/ticket/2231#comment:1

Basically, OSS (Open Sound System) has to be installed on the system, and enabled when Scratch is started.

I hope this gets fixed in the next SOAS.
