Do you believe in the multiverse theory? And/or Paradoxes or possible parallel universe/dimensions? Any thoughts on any of those? post your thoughts here! Questions on space? Ask them here! If you wonder about black holes or wormholes (and/or white holes) let me know, i'll find an answer if i don't know it already!

Thought of teh day: where will black holes take you if you made it through without dying?

There's the possibility, but I don't ponder on it

a black hole is a vaccum. You wouldn't go anywhere. You would get stuck on the bottom of the vaccum and not go anywhere. That's the current theory. But who knows? Maybe it will take you some where?

Actually, Steven Hawking disagrees with you on that.

Hmmm..... I was thinking about black holes alot a few months ago. *digs through folders* AHA! I think (possibly) that you could survive a black hole. BECAUSE.......
Your body isn't too big. The forces will almost be the same, and once you get past the EVENT HORIZIN, if you are small enough, you survive.
[Very small print]majormax is not responsible for death or injury. Go into black holes at your own risk[/very small print]

I say that because, he came up with the idea of string theory. And string theory states that it is possible to go through a black hole if you don't touch the sides.

I've learned about that, but if it IS possible, where would you go?
just a thought from me, but i always wondered about that. Would it take us to a virtual word (according to another theory, atoms falling in turn into vitrual atoms)?

tomorrow (probably around noon, Eastern US time) i will post a thought of teh day but today is black holes

I don't know. String theory allows for 11 dimensions, so...

I believe in the multiverse and big bang theories. Most of the other theories are stupid non-sense that can not be real.
My dad doesn't believe any new theory. I bug him by telling him he only believes what Galileo did.
We both are astronomy buffs.

are any of you familiar with a book called the tomorrow codes? it's about messages from the future that are sent by a signal that disrupts gamma ray bursts. does this seem possible?

How would they send it back in time?

Hmm..... disrupting gamma rays... messages from the future......
Nope. It is not possible. Sorry.

You don't know that. Just because it sounds crazy, doesn't mean it is.

The ultimate paradox, to prove paradoxes are real.

I like zeno's paradox(or something like that). it states that if an object is moving towards a target, each time going half the distance between them, the object will never hit the target. it makes sense, once you think about it.
