It's satire! It's saying racist things to make fun of them!
I think people are over reacting about this. It really is just for laughs, not for being a jerk.Racism isn't something you joke about.
I have now reported the topic. I wasn't clear though I realize so I'll say here that I want it closed.

Racism is alive, for all ages. I find it weird how this would be played in class, considering it has several racist remarks, which if I were Korean, wouldn't take as a joke. Most of the song is stereotypical remarks, making fun of Korea's politics, and random remarks.
I don't really want to get into it, but I do feel bad for the 14 year-old boy.

So, racism is fine if it's just to be funny? No.
I don't think you get it! I found the video hilarious! I am anti-racism, and if it was nothing more than just some goofing around, than I wouldn't have liked it.
I'm really not getting my point accross.

Yeah, I don't see how someone could get so offended, it's just satire. But the real question is: Why did the teacher allow this in the first place?
The teacher didn't. Some kids in the class showed it to the Korean.
I completely agree with you Ussat! It's nothing more than some fun, not an attack! It's not like Rucka actually thinks that!

If you're anti racism then why are you supporting a racist group of kids showing a racist video to a korean kid? It doesn't matter if it is a joke, it is still racist.

I can't talk with you guys! You guys don't know the difference between racism and jokes about racism! Some stuff is just a joke! Listen to Ussat, he has a better explanation of this.

That video contained no jokes about racism, just jokes about Koreans.

I don't support the showing of the video. I just don't get why everybody is taking it seriously! Many black people, Koreans, and other races, love Rucka!

Amen.
You don't seem to understand. You were preaching about how racism and racist jokes are different. However they aren't. They are both racist. It doesn't matter if it comes big or small, racism is racism. Don't you see what you're doing? You're claiming to be anti-racism then fighting towards it. This topic is turning into a flame war, and PW randomly attacking me, no matter how smally, is not helping. Maybe we should cool it down a little.

That's because we brought racism into the mix in the beginning. It's not that easy to cool down when you have a heated issue like this.

It wasn't brought in at the beginning. It is what started this thread. Sanddude has been arguing the issue of the racism in the video since the first post. And also there's no explanation for your saying that I hold grudges (or something akin to it)

The point of the matter is, even if Ruchbah Ali or whatever meant it as a joke, the racist kids didn't. Your argument is invalid, sanddude.

He probably did mean it though. You can't make racist jokes without being racist.

An interesting discussion about a touchy subject. I know a lot of comedians like to use racial stereotypes in their jokes. And a lot of people find them funny. But they can be quite harmful as they reinforce the stereotypes.
It's a standard device in comedy. There are jokes about all kinds of people: jokes about blondes, geeks, jocks, lawyers, hicks, Americans, Canadians, New Yorkers, Mainers, Republicans, Democrats, and so on. Pretty much any group of people you want to name. How do you feel when somebody tells a joke about a group to which you belong? Do you find it funny or hurtful?

The kid and the creator of the song both have a point. I think that the song was NOT meant to offend any people, but seriously, imagine people have been racially discriminating against you for years, and then THOSE kids show you this vid. Now imagine that you're a already struggling with puberty 14 year old who had to put up with a bunch of racists for 10 years. He has good reason to be angry.

He makes fun of Asains, Blacks, Whites, and most other races. And how come people of many races like the songs, even the ones that make fun of their race? Because it's all in good humor! I am a white and I thought the song "I Don't Like White People" was hilarious. There are Koreans that thought "Ima Korean" was funny. A lot of black people liked the songs that used the N word. He doesn't mean what he says. Otherwise, the stuff would get me really mad and angry, not ROTFLOL.
