Basically, it was about how a 14-year-old Korean child was offended by a video shown in class. It was the video for "Ima Korean" by parody artist Rucka Rucka Ali (not giving link, look it up yourself). The parents of the kid claimed it mocked their culture.
I understand why they might feel that it was racist. However, the video was to be taken with a grain of salt. It was just meant to be joking around, not attacking Koreans.
You can read the articile here.
Discuss.

According to the article, the 14 year old was the only kid in his class of Oriental descent, and there are claims that he was suffering from racist verbal abuse and that the whole class was laughing. I find it difficult to believe that the video here was played with no intention of harm being done.

He was suffering from racial abuse, but that was outside of the video. The video was just a joke, and not meant to harm anybody.

Jokes that can be taken as insulting a culture?

It was not meant to be taken seriously. Someone reviewing the song on iTunes said that his/her Korean friend loved the song!
Videos aren't always taken the way they're meant to be.
Especially in situations where abuse is already happening, people tend to be offended even if the video wasn't meant to offend them.
And in any case, we're not saying the video was meant to offend people. We're suspecting that the video was played to the class in an attempt to offend the kid.

That's probably it.
The musician uses racial humor for comedic effect, and it's not meant to be taken seriously.

Sanddude is probably trying to use this as a presentation of his actions which include rudely stomping on or rejecting other peoples' opinions and calling it a joke afterwards. How do you know the video is a joke? Do you have it in writing from the creator himself?

The guy has a disclaimer about the videos.
And I've heard all of your dumb comments about me. There's no need to repeat it. Honestly, you are being just as mean as me.

My dumb comments? I have no idea what you're talking about as none of my comments are dumb.

Why would a teacher put that on during class, anyway?
A group of kids showed it.
The same racist kids who were harrassing the kid outside of the movie.

It's satire! It's saying racist things to make fun of them!
I think people are over reacting about this. It really is just for laughs, not for being a jerk.

Racism isn't something you joke about.

That's my point. It's never good to make fun of people, especially when it comes to things like race.
