Question about books

How long are chapters, normally?

Re: Question about books

I've seen chapters that are two pages long. I've seen chapters that are forty pages long. Most are usually around 20, but it all depends on what's happening. I suggest seperating chapters at cliff hangers or whatever.

Oh... 'cause in my book (The Magic Bath 2) It hasn't even been 1 page yet, (almost, though) and I'm wondering if I can get away with having that as a chapter.  tongue

Re: Question about books

I read a remarkably good book that was 548 pages long, and one of the chapters had only one line of text in it.  I'm just saying.

(Not all the chapters were just one line, only one chapter.)

Re: Question about books

It seriously varies. Some books that I read (generally larger ones) have at least 20 pages per chapter. Others have 3-5 pages per chapter, and some have only 1 or 2.

Re: Question about books

I'd say for most books about 10. But you can get more answers from other book lovers here.

Varies... There are books with the same number of pages that have 9 chapters or 37 chapters.  wink
