So far demo projects have really helped new users learn about scratch by reading other peoples scripts.
For scratch 2.0s demo projects I have 2 ideas:
1. Make everything look professional, give it a scratch theme, add comments and make everything look neat.
2, Have a contest or scratch design studio for the demo projects.
Number one will be the best for showing new scratchers what you can make with scratch while not confusing them with other scripts and badly named variables. It will also make the projects blend right in. All the projects would be simple but do their job.
Number two will let the community have more say on what what 2.0 will be like, and maybe produce better projects than the staff, and will make sure the team are not constantly busy.
It will show new users what the community has made, and that your games do not need to be spot on perfect all the time. But they may be less clear and confuse the new users with extra scripts and even just strange characters.
What do you think?
